My favorite day in baseball history: Game 4 of the 1989 World Series This day in baseball history in 1989 was the greatest day of my entire life. I was eight years old and it’s an entire series that I will never forget, the 1989 World Series. I know it’s hard to say it was the best day of my life, given the 6.9 Loma Prieta Earthquake that devastated both San Francisco and Oakland. My heart goes out to every single person who wa injured or lost someone they loved that day but this series meant the world to me. […]

Josh Phegley hit a towering […]

Surging A’s stopped as Red Sox complete 3-game sweep

lineup, sweep, free agent contract, Josh Reddick
Although still fifth place in the American League West, the Oakland Athletics appear to be turning things around. They’ve won six of their last seven games, taking three of four from the AL East first place New York Yankees and completing their first sweep of the season over the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have been sliding downhill fast and while they began the season fighting the Kansas City Royals for first place in the AL Central, they’ve now fallen four and a half games behind the Royals and the Minnesota Twins after what is, after today’s loss to Oakland, a […]
