Mark Trumbo

power hitter
You’ve probably heard the name. Actually you have probably heard the name multiple times, however, nine times out of ten when someone says the name “Chris Davis” in the same sentence as the words “home run,” your mind jumps to slugger Chris Davis of the Baltimore Orioles. That’s not the Davis you’re going to read about here. The Orioles’ Chris Davis is quite a slugger, he’s one of the elite power hitters in the game today. Many names could be added to the list from Boston’s David Ortiz to the Nationals’ Daniel Murphy, who lead their respective leagues in slugging […]

Keeping Martinez by far Dipoto’s smartest move When Jerry Dipoto took over as the new general manager of the Seattle Mariners prior to the season he made more than a few changes. He flipped over 40% of the Mariners roster between mid-September and mid-December. Dipoto kept a handful of the front office staff in assistant GM Jeff Kingston and two scouting directors in Tom McNamara and Tom Allison. He brought in his former assistant general manager with the Los Angeles Angels Scott Servais, a man with no managerial experience, to manage the team in place of an experienced skipper in […]

In one of my new posts from FanRag Sports’ Today’s Knuckleball I explore the six-player trade that sent Mark Trumbo from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Seattle Mariners. The piece takes a bigger look into how Trumbo has performed over the last month and how the other major (or minor – however you want to look at it) player in this trade, former Mariner’s back-up catcher Wellington Castillo have performed after moving to their new teams. It isn’t exactly what you might expect. You can find the post via the link below: Mariners on the losing end of Mark Trumbo […]

The Seattle Mariners announced a six-player trade Wednesday with the Arizona Diamondbacks mainly to acquire outfielder Mark Trumbo. Source: #Mariners have acquired Mark Trumbo from #DBacks. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) June 3, 2015 This comes after the Mariners were just swept at home by the New York Yankees in an attempt to add power to a lineup that has vastly under performed this season. The Mariners were expected to be a force to be reckoned with this season having added arguably the best second baseman in baseball in Robinson Cano in 2014 and last season’s MLB home run champion in […]

Mariners trade for Diamondbacks’ Mark Trumbo

The Chicago White Sox have now invested in centerfielder Adam Eaton much like they did with their ace Chris Sale back in 2013 and Jose Quintana in 2014. Both Sale and Quintana signed five-year extensions worth $32.5 million and $21 million, respectively. The White Sox have now invested five-years in center fielder Adam Eaton, who was acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a three-team, five-player trade that sent Tyler Skaggs to the Los Angeles Angels and Mark Trumbo to the Diamondbacks. The White Sox got what they wanted and more in Eaton, who batted .300 for Chicago in […]
