Getting the Philadelphia Phillies to finally trade their coveted left-handed starter Cole Hamels was quite a feat in itself for the Texas Rangers. The Phillies had gone back and forth the past couple of seasons, not necessarily on if they would trade Hamels, but when, where and for whom.
The Rangers finally offered the rebuilding Phillies an offer that met their expectations. If things move forward according to the Rangers’ plans for the future, acquiring Hamels was one of the smartest moves they could have made, and they could be the force to be reckoned with 2016.
