I’m not fan of any San Francisco sports team as many of you may have figured out by now so this latest development doesn’t surprise me in the least. Alex Rodriguez is a Forty Niner fan. Interesting, right?
I first noticed this after last week’s Niner’s game when a post was circulating on Instagram of A-Rod at the Forty Niners vs. San Diego Chargers game with his Niners jersey on. The Niners lost 38-35.
A-Rod was at the Niners final game again Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. The Niners defeated the Arizona Cardinals so I guess all their losses can’t be blamed on his presence and support as of course many fans of all teams, both baseball and football, were speculating.
This week instead of just an instagram photo we have A-Rod exchanging pleasantries with the now-former head coach of the Forty Niners, Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh, who had issues with the Forty Niners organization from what I have gathered, left the team (before being fired) and will be the University of Michigan’s head coach next season.
I can’t tell if Harbaugh is embarrassed or just being pleasant but the whole thing just strikes me as odd.
Alex Rodriguez comes out of nowhere as this big Niners fan? It is just random. And since there was so much in the media floating around the web about it, I thought I might as well put it all together in a post.
To be sort of fair to the teams on the west side of the bay, I will say that A-Rod was in fact at a Dallas Cowboys game earlier this year but he wasn’t clad in a Tony Romo jersey. Instead he was almost run over by Tony Romo. That made my blog as well but in case you didn’t catch it here you go:
