A’s designate Jim Johnson for assignment

Well, I feel for the guy, I really do. I’m sure he’s a nice person and I wish him all the best but the day has finally come A’s fans … the era of Jim Johnson costing us leads and games is OVER! You can all breathe that sigh of relief I know we have all been wanting to breathe since the first week of the season – crap, almost since opening day!! And they called up Scribner which is great! I love Scribner. He’s 4-1 with a 3.35 ERA with the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats this season. – Anyways, here is part of my article for Call to the Pen on the subject (you can follow the link at the bottom to read the rest!):

After a horrendous season thus far, Oakland reliever Jim Johnson came into Wednesday nights game  in the eighth inning with a 9-2 lead over the Houston Astros. He left having given four runs (three earned) on four hits without getting a single batter out. That’s just how Johnson’s season has been going. The A’s, one of the favorites for the World Series, designated Johnson for assignment on Thursday morning according to MLB.com’s Jane Lee.
